Fitness Situation: One Month Results

Today marks one month since I began Pilates and Spin and I think I'm going to keep it up! I really love it and feel so much better about myself. I'm feeling stronger and maybe even a leeeeeetle bit more flexible. The first two weeks I went to four classes per week, but have since upped it to 5. I'm considering trying to squeeze a weekend class in there, too, to up it to 6.

As for my weekly results, there wasn't a whole lot of change this week. I blame this on my period, bloating, and not having Spin class yesterday. BUT! I was pretty good on the 4th of July. Being that a certain couple that had been planning for weeks on spending the day with us canceled 20 minutes before they were supposed to be at our house, I didn't have the temptation to eat a bunch of crap. Instead I stewed in my anger that we spent $100 on food and a few hours cooking and cleaning for their visit.

Anyway... results were still minimal.

I'm still stuck at 160, but I still saw a little change on the measuring tape. My knee went down another quarter-inch, and I finally saw results on my arms with a half-inch loss! But hey, look, I went UP a quarter-inch on my calves. This I am certain is muscle as they've become pretty solid as of late, so no biggie. I guess there's really only so much you can lose off of your calves anyway so I'm not really worried about it.

After one month, I'm down 6 inches over all! I'll take it. I've decided to post a before and after to compare. I think I can see a difference, but it could just be my mind. This is also only 3 weeks difference, so who knows if it's really even visible.

I remember attempting not to, but I think I'm holding my abs tight in the before pictures. It's been a habit of mine for years, and it's not a bad one to have, but it kind of screws with the photos when I wasn't doing it in today's pictures! D'oh. Oh well. 

I'm going to try to add more Spin classes to my schedule, or hopefully motivate myself to hit the elliptical before class. We'll see how that actually works out for me, though. Hopefully my plateau is cycle-related like I think it is, and I will bust through it when I'm done being bloated and gross.
