An Ellison Sibling Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving started out a little ambitious for different reasons. Jamie got up early and headed to the gym to make a dent in what was to be consumed later. I was still sleeping when he left, but I heard him leave. About 10 minutes later, he called me. The gym was closed (even though the website said they were open) and he was returning home with Starbucks. The rest of the morning involved a quick trip to the car wash followed by my finishing the two dishes I was taking to Thanksgiving dinner at Jamie's older brother's house.
Apple stuffing and a pear and brie tart with vanilla almond crust, both from scratch.
Impressive, eh? The stuffing turned out really well! The tart, however, sucked. Sucked sucked sucked. The crust was overcooked and just completely fell apart. The pears didn't cook down into anything soft and deliciously fruit-like and the brie turned into a weird chewy layer of something that is the complete opposite of brie cheese. What a disappointment!

Luckily, the tart was the only disappointment of the day spent mostly eating, talking and card playing. I decided that I was actually going to dust off my real camera instead of Instagramming everything to post here later. I even used my external flash that I bought last year for indoor occasions like this, but I've been too intimidated to use it until now. I'm not sure what I was so worried about, the flash worked perfectly for me. Let the photodumping commence...
